Aylesbury : Countryside living within touching distance of London

Aylesbury is a city in Buckinghamshire and it is conveniently situated midway between Milton Keynes and High Wycombe. It boasts a real mixture of housing stock, from charming cottages in Aylesbury Old Town to modern family homes on new developments such as Berryfields and Kingsbrook.

Transportation

As far as communication links go, Aylesbury is well served. There are two mainline stations, Aylesbury Railway Station and Aylesbury Vale Parkway Railway Station. The former provides access to London Marylebone in just over an hour. Aylesbury also has excellent bus links with routes available to the likes of Luton, Milton Keynes, Oxford and Watford. The M25, M40 and M1 motorways are also just short drive away.

Schooling

Aylesbury is ideal for families with a breadth of primary and secondary school availability including the highly regarded Aylesbury Grammar School and Aylesbury High School as well as newer schools such as Aylesbury Vale Academy. There is also a wealth of activities to do close by including a trip to the Roald Dahl Children's Gallery and The Waterside Theatre as well a visit to Aylesbury's vibrant shopping centre which is home to a range of shops, restaurants, bars and other amenities.

Leisure

There are a number of National Trust sites within easy reach including Hartwell House, Waddesdon Manor, and Ascott House. There is also a good selection of historical sites within the city centre, such as The County Hall, The Clock Tower and The King's Head Inn which are all well worth a visit.

Overall, Aylesbury provides an excellent family friendly place to live with superb schooling options and a wide range of local activities. Whether you like long countryside walks (the Chiltern Hills are nearby) or trips to the theatre, you will not be disappointed. The communication links are great and you can be in central London in just over an hour if necessary.
